In fact, after digging in Inform I6T files, it looks like the routine from the extension is the same as the one resulting from the saving action. So the file should be indistinguishable from a normal save. As for the boolean, I now understand that it exists because Kerkerkruip tries to save the game...

I extracted from Kerkerkruip Permadeath the code that make it possible to save to and restore from an external file to put it in an extension. First of all, It would be great if someone (maybe the original author Victor Gijsbers or Erik Temple) reviewed it so I'm sure I haven't made mistakes. In par...

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to implement a custom way of saving? Is it so it works across mutiple versions of the game?

Because even on the web you could just use regular saves.

I wrote an Electron project to bundle a Vorple story. It is quite simple and does not handle things like preferences dialog. Since Vorple can directly use JavaScript and can itself modify the game layout (margins, fonts and such), I leave it to the author to implement preferences and additional feat...

As dhakajack wrote, here is a screenshot of Vorple running with Capacitor on my Android phone: vorple-android.png It was just a quick experiment, so I don't have a template one could use, and maybe something won't work as expected in the end. (And I couldn't test on iOS because I don't have a Mac.) ...

So I built interpreters ( found here ) with remglk ( found here ), on macOS and on Windows (with Cygwin, if that matters). I noticed that the JSON output by remglk uses \r\n new lines on macOS and \n new lines on Windows. However, I think it's supposed to be the other way around . I don't know where...

I ended up having a HTML file per story, and using iframes that I can show and hide when needed.

Not what I would have prefered, but it may finally be better and it seems to work, so I think all is OK.

Thanks anyway!

I have a project where I need to load multiple stories (not at the same time) in Quixe via JavaScript, without reloading the page . I have the default Quixe template (play.html) with the following line removed: <script src="stories/glulxercise.ulx.js" type="text/javascript"></scr...

In fact, it is possible to use the translated name even in your source if you write: North translates into Hungarian as észak. (And I think you wouldn't need the understand lines then.) However, the line above won't work by default. You would first have to create a new file at a specific place in yo...

I was curious, so I added parsing of "on [supporter]" and "in [container]" and tried this out, with a box on the table and a key in the box. What "understand" lines did you write exactly? Shouldn't relations be used instead? Understand "in [something related by re...
